Andrew LaFave
FOR VENTURA UNIFIED SCHOOL BOARD
TRUSTEE AREA 5
I’m running for school BOARD because I think I can help.
I've spent my career in education—as a teacher, researcher, and administrator—trying to understand what helps students succeed and what gets in their way. I believe good governance begins by listening to the people doing the work, being transparent about the decisions we make, and using evidence to make those decisions well.

about andrew
I’ve spent 26 years in education—as a teacher, researcher, and administrator—working to understand what helps students succeed and what gets in their way.
I began my career teaching high school, and today, I lead strategic planning, equity work, accreditation, and student success initiatives at Santa Barbara City College, after years working in community colleges across Ventura County.
I’m running for the VUSD Board of Trustees because I think I can help.

Asking questions
Good decisions begin with asking the right questions, listening to the answers, and using evidence to understand what works and what gets in the way.
